Composer & Conductor of Orchestra

Roberto Fiore is a dedicated Italian conductor and composer with a rich history of collaboration with orchestras worldwide. His career has taken him across Italy, Argentina, Poland, Portugal, and China, where he has conducted a variety of operas and symphonic productions, striving to bring out the best in every performance.
Since 2016, Roberto has been based in China, where he has been privileged to serve as the Principal Conductor and Founder of the Shanghai Nova Sinfonietta. He also holds the position of Music Director and Principal Conductor with the Nantong University International Symphony Orchestra (NUISO), the Chongqing City S Orchestra, the Shanghai Jazz Orchestra, and the Beijing Italian Jazz Orchestra. Alongside these roles, he served as Associate Professor and, from 2025, was promoted to Full Professor at the School of Arts at Nantong University, where he is also a foreign teacher at the Department of Music and the Director of the Division Office.
Roberto's musical journey began at the Respighi Conservatory of Music in Italy, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors in conducting and composition. He continued his studies at the Conservatory of Music in Rome and the Conservatory of Music in Krakow, Poland, under the guidance of the esteemed composer Luis Bacalov. There, he deepened his understanding of composition and film scoring, as well as mastering piano, Italian opera, and band conducting.
Throughout his career, Roberto has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned orchestras worldwide, including the Milan Symphony Orchestra, the Milan Nuova Cameristica Chamber Orchestra, the Poland Rybnik Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra Domenico Scarlatti at the Puccini Festival, and the Vietnam Ho Chi Minh Opera and Ballet Symphony Orchestra, among others. He has conducted in major concert halls across Asia, including the Shanghai Concert Hall and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Jaguar Theater.
In addition to his conducting achievements, Roberto has made significant contributions to composition and had the opportunity to collaborate with Casa Musicale Sonzogno, a world-famous publishing company in Milan, Italy, for the publication of his music editions. His scholarly work on Giovanni Sgambati led to the discovery of two previously unknown manuscripts — the Nonetto per archi and the Andante cantabile per archi — at the Biblioteca Casanatense in Rome, which he critically revised for Sonzogno and conducted in their world premieres. Roberto has also published academic articles in China, Italy, and in international peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the study of music history, intercultural community music, and the Italian instrumental tradition.
In 2024, Roberto was appointed Chief Conductor by the Italian Consulate in Shanghai for a concert during President Mattarella's state visit to China, leading NUISO in Hangzhou.
